Career
Chapter One
Beginnings
Akanksha Awasthi, born and raised in Lucknow, trained in classical dance from a young age before turning to acting. She began her career in Hindi television in 2006, making her debut in the serial Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan.
In the years that followed, she took on roles across several television dramas, including Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat on Star Plus and Doli Saja Ke Rakhna on Sahara One, steadily building her experience in front of the camera.
Chapter Two
The Breakthrough
Her breakthrough came with the role of Rohini Jaiswal in Colors TV's long-running hit Uttaran — a performance that earned her the 16th Lions Gold Award and introduced her to a much wider television audience.
That recognition opened the door to a new chapter: in 2018, she crossed over into Bhojpuri cinema with her film debut in Dabang Sarkar, opposite Khesari Lal Yadav and Kajal Raghwani.
Chapter Three
The Kind of Roles She's Known For
Since her Bhojpuri film debut, Akanksha Awasthi has taken on roles opposite the industry's biggest stars — a supporting turn alongside Pawan Singh in Jai Hind (2019), and a lead role as Sandhya opposite Pradeep Pandey "Chintu" in Vivaah (2019).
Across this body of work, she has become associated with the family dramas and romantic leads that anchor much of mainstream Bhojpuri cinema.
